Oakland Residence Inn
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Client Issue: In Pittsburgh Pennsylvania’s downtown Oakland neighborhood, Massaro Properties was closing on a deal to develop a 15,547 square foot plot of land into a magnificent hotel. The Marriott Residence Inn was to have 144 rooms, spanning ten stories high and featuring a two-story Great Room, fitness area, swimming pool, and all the amenities those patrons of a high-class hotel expect to have. The exterior was to be even more impressive: with three colors of thin case stone veneer, accent color panels, and a glass storefront, all that was needed to round off this highly-anticipated project was a strong structure to support the sky-scraping building.
FrameCo’s Solution: For the 95,310 square foot hotel, our team fabricated and supplied over 40,000 square feet of panels to encase the ten stories of Marriott’s Inn. Using our non-bearing panel technique, the team created panels to fly by the structural steel of the building, effectively closing it in using FrameCo-provided slide clips for easy attachment to the beams. With the smooth trip from FrameCo’s shop to resting securely hundreds of feet in the Pittsburgh sky, our Cleveland-built panels helped the Residence Inn come to a quick and successful completion!
Total sq. feet of material: 39,900
