2016 is the year the first of the baby boomers start turning 70. The effects? An increase in Florida’s population, more government spending on healthcare…and a lot of new senior living centers. In the city of Tallahassee alone, ten new centers are in various stages of construction- that’s 1,235 units in assisted living space to be added to just one city. They’re known by many names; nursing homes, memory care, assisted living, and more.
